Two renowned actors on the Seebühne! Annette Frier, who has played countless leading roles in TV and cinema projects for many years, and stage berserker Peter Trabner, who is also a sought-after film and TV actor and who frequently delights audiences with his brilliant one-man shows, met years ago on the set of the lawyer series “Danni Lowinski”. The two hit it off straight away, worked together on two feature films and had always planned to develop a play together. And that is exactly what they are now doing for asphalt! Their topic: democracy – the form of government that until recently seemed so self-evident and untouchable, but is now in danger and in disarray in many places. Frier and Trabner slip into different roles in a compelling way, travel back to Ancient Greece and the beginnings of “popular rule”, question the future with an oracle and then return to the present. Where did Pericles go wrong? What does it take for a democracy to succeed? Or would it perhaps be better in the end if the whole shebang was taken over by some crazy billionaire?
Annette Frier has been acting in leading roles in various TV and cinema projects for many years and has been awarded the German Television Prize, the Bavarian Television Prize, the German Comedy Prize several times and the Jupiter in the category “Best Actress National”. She is always drawn back to the theatre stage and has also worked as a voice actor in numerous radio play productions.
The multi-award-winning actor, theatre producer and performance artist Peter Trabner is a versatile film and TV actor (including “Tatort”, “Babylon Berlin”, “Polizeiruf Rostock”). His screenplay for the TV film “Alki Alki” was nominated for the Grimme Prize in 2017, and his leading role in the production earned him a nomination for Best Male Actor at the German Film Critics’ Award. The feature film “Stumm vor Schreck”, starring him and Annette Frier, won – among others – the Critics’ Award at Filmfest Hof 2022.
